About Colleen Rustad
Fitness has been a priority throughout my life. It began when I started taking ballet as a child, through my dance career and into college where I majored in ballet. In the 1980s, I wore leg warmers and head bands while working out in Jane Fonda-type aerobics classes. I logged hundreds of miles pushing a jogging stroller while raising a family of three. When I started working in marketing, my workouts shifted to before-work gym classes. The blessing of a healthy body and the joy of moving motivates me to this present day.
Now, I have turned my passion for fitness into a profession – something I’ve wanted to do for decades. I know that a commitment to staying active and healthy living can make a significant difference in one’s life as they age…because it has for me.
We all want to get the most out of life, and feel better about ourselves in the process. It would be my honor to work with you to improve the ways you move and live.

Colleen intuitively "gets" my body. Every workout she takes me through leaves me feeling satisfyingly spent and energized at the same time. I have knee issues and Colleen has helped me increase my strength and stability, without inflammation. Colleen carefully watches and corrects my overall form during each exercise, which helps me make real progress in strength, endurance, and healthy alignment. I've worked out a long time and never appreciated proper form the way I do now. Better posture, with my shoulders back and down - something I've wanted to improve for years - is happening for me naturally, almost without effort.
What does a training program with you look like?
The first session is all about getting to know you. I want to learn about your past and current exercise programs, get some basic health history, learn about your short-term and long-term goals, and areas of concern. We’ll do some simple movement evaluations so I can see how your body moves. I’ll use the information you shared with me and what I observed in the movement assessments to build a program of exercises that are effective and safe. My goal is that your body moves as it was meant to so that you can continue exercising for many years to come!
Before we meet for the second session, I’ll create your training program(s) so at the second session, we can do the exercises together. I want you to leave feeling confident that you can do them with proper form on your own.
But that’s just the starting point. From your initial program, the options for variations on the type of training (cardio, strength, flexibility, core), volume (sets, reps), and intensity (load, exercise selection) are limitless. No one wants to do the same routine forever; it’s boring and isn’t good for our body. By varying the amount and type of stress (this is a good kind of stress!) placed on the body, your body will meet the challenge and be healthier because of it.
